I love my Mum

You aren't an angel from heaven
or a saintly patient person
The sweet and kindly mums on cards
you're definitely worse than.

You often lost your temper
and made a few mistakes
and the food you sometimes served up
was nothing like a gourmet makes.

My PE kit was regularly
not clean in time for class
and if motherhood was an exam
you'd just scrape by with PASS.

But you are a laugh to be with
and one thing's very true
Of all the mums in all the world
I'm glad that I got you.
