The Royal Icing on the Cake.

I thought it was terribly clever
as well as deliciously sweet
How the Royal Wedding tried to include
ALL believers as part of the treat.

Even trees for the Pagans and Druids
plus Celtic stuff all the way through
and for the Buddhists and Green party
things were recyclable and organic too!

The music was full of deep meaning
and once Catherine and William were wed I
was struck by the tune at the end
was it Star Wars to please all us Jedi?

Unlike many fairytale stories
they took care not to cause offence
by omitting to invite to the wedding
anyone who might have influence.

Cos I'm sure you have not yet forgotten
what happened in stories of old
when some nasty bad witch acted rotten
for being left out in the cold.

I'm sure I saw in the church crowd
at least three who had to be witches
and even spied the ugly sisters
whose outfits had most folk in stitches.

So let's hope they got it right at this wedding
and there's no one who wishes them ill
and I end this doggerel with my utmost support-
