Cheese and the banana

I bought a lot of cheddar cheese
because it was so cheap
It lay there past it's sell-by date
and piled up in a heap.
A little voice inside my head
said, "Think of the money you'll save
by making loads of cheesy treats
you often find you crave."

So I listened to the little voice
and purchased tons of cheese
it's sitting now inside my fridge
beside the frozen peas.
(Not really it's next to the chilled spring onions but that doesn't rhyme.)

I also have some other things
close to their sell-by date
and I'm finding the pressure to use them up
is starting to make me hate

Cheese.
